What customers say?

“ Quaint and cozy. It’s a great spot for lunch and a fancy cocktail. I went with my daughter after wedding planning appointment! I had the Cran Sparkle cocktail, the Reuben and a cup of gelato. Our server Maggie was very nice and professional. It was nice and quiet and I was able to sketch up a little drawing. My only problem is that it was pricey. ”

“ I love this place! My friend and I came for Christmas Day lunch after church, and sat at a corner table, and had the best time!! We did the holiday dinner, and it was AMAZING! I actually added a bowl of Bookbinder Soup (you have to try this) because I hadn;t had it in over 20 years! (Last time was at The Cape Cod Room) Our server, I think his name is Daryl, told me the history of the soup! He was an amazing guy! Handled the crowd with professionalism, kindness, humor, and made the meal, as far as I'm concerned! Thank you everyone for a wonderful holiday lunch! ”

“ Classic and elegant with an old-school charm that feels timeless. The interior has a refined, understated vibe that makes it a great choice for a date night or a more formal dinner. The menu leans into traditional dishes done well, and the execution shows good skill without being overly flashy. Service is attentive and polished, matching the upscale but comfortable atmosphere. Not ultra-trendy or loud, just a place that knows what it is and delivers confidently on ”

“ Historic cocktail bar on the ground floor of The Drake hotel that serves old school cocktails including an executive martini that is essentially two Martinis (pic attached). We came here on a Wednesday night and walked right in for a table for two. The menu is small but the French onion soup and bookbjnder soup were amazing! We also split a salad and had the most ginormous cheesecake for dessert. ”

“ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review for Brian Martinez – The Drake Hotel, Chicago I’ve been staying at The Drake Hotel in Chicago for over a week, and one of the biggest highlights of my stay has been the exceptional service from Brian Martinez at the bar and restaurant. From the very first interaction, Brian has gone above and beyond to make every visit memorable. He provides the kind of service that feels rare these days—attentive, genuine, and consistently outstanding. Whether it’s recommending something new, checking in at just the right moment, or simply making you feel welcomed, Brian takes real pride in what he does, and it shows. During a long stay like mine, you really notice who truly elevates the experience, and Brian absolutely has. He represents The Drake with professionalism and warmth, and he turned a great hotel stay into an exceptional one. Huge thanks to Brian for the phenomenal service. The Drake is lucky to have him, and I look forward to coming back! ”

“ I’ve never felt like a Chicago resident more than I have when dining here. You enter into the establishment and find an open seat that best fits you and your party. The servers come and find you and they are the most friendly crew you’ll ever meet at a bar/restaurant. I watched many connections be made just by people coming and sitting at the bar. The food was phenomenal. The wings were big and filled with flavor. I could’ve eaten the whipped mashed potatoes by themselves. The benefit to staying in the hotel (The Drake) you can dine here and charge it to your room. Makes it convenient if you are in town on busy and need to charge your company for meals. I will be back to get more of the mashed potatoes and wings! ”

“ We stopped in in Coq D'Or within the Drake hotel on Chicago's magnificent Mile during a shopping trip before christmas. This restaurant and bar in the basement level of the historic Drake hotel was warm and cozy. We especially appreciate that they had a live piano player who sort of did a rousing set of sing-along songs like a dueling piano bar. The service was quick and courteous, and our flatbread pizza was wonderful and drinks were served quickly and correctly. ”

“ Great burger! $24 for a burger seems reasonable in this area, especially for a hotel restaurant. I asked for medium rare and they delivered on the temp. The bun was soft and the fries crispy. Good place to use your Hilton amex credits. Much better food wise than LH Rooftop at London House ”
